The project for Via Lorenzini 8 in Milan involves the construction of a new office complex designed by the international firm KPF. The development consists of two office buildings of five and six storeys, accompanied by two basement levels housing garages, storage areas and technical rooms, for a total volume of approximately 122,000 m³ and an overall surface area of about 30,000 m².
A Distinctive Architectural Vision for Offices with a Strong Structural Identity
An office campus with a rational and efficient structure, designed to ensure solidity, innovation, and long-term architectural quality.
A distinctive feature of the project is its structural configuration, conceived to ensure high performance and maximum flexibility of the interior spaces. The load bearing system is based on a white tank foundation slab, perimeter basement walls also built as a white tank system, and exposed cast in place reinforced concrete columns and walls, which provide solidity and a strong material quality to the whole. The floor slabs are constructed as exposed solid reinforced concrete plates, while prestressed concrete beams enable the creation of large column free areas in the ground floor atria and in the main entrance facing Via Lorenzini.
The structural approach and the complexity of the foundation system were developed to support a contemporary architectural vision focused on transparency, generous openings and seamless spatial continuity.
The new Via Lorenzini complex thus emerges as a benchmark project for the evolution of Milan’s business district, combining architectural quality, construction innovation and high level structural performance.
