The U27 complex, located in the north‑western area of the new Milanofiori 2000 district in Assago (Milan), began construction in 2012 and is distinguished by a dynamic volumetric composition despite its compact footprint. The architecture is articulated through a series of suspended volumes that emerge above the lower levels like true projecting “boxes,” giving the entire complex a contemporary and highly recognisable character.
The cantilevers extend up to 6 metres at the corners, representing a significant structural challenge for which HB developed a dedicated solution based on post‑tensioned slabs, ensuring stability, performance and formal clarity without the need for visible supporting elements. Inside the building, above the internal garden, a 30‑metre bridge spans between the top two floors, becoming a defining feature both spatially and structurally.
