Engineering the Alpine Experience at High Altitude

The construction of the new Mont Blanc cable car, a project with a total value of €110,000,000, began in 2010 and stands as one of the most significant infrastructural developments in the Alpine region. Located at the upper end of the Aosta Valley, near the entrance to the Mont Blanc Tunnel, the line connects Courmayeur, at an elevation of 1,200 metres, to the intermediate station of Mont Fréty at 2,300 metres, and finally to the top station at Punta Helbronner, reaching 3,500 metres above sea level. The panoramic cabins, designed to accommodate up to 80 passengers, offer spectacular views throughout the entire ascent.

The valley station, located in the Pontal d’Entrèves area, was conceived as a new architectural landmark seamlessly integrated into its surroundings, thanks to a contemporary design capable of engaging harmoniously with the Alpine environment. The intermediate station rises alongside the former facility and houses a restaurant and several conference rooms, transforming Mont Fréty from a simple transit point into a true destination for activities and events.

At high altitude, the new Punta Helbronner station represents the pinnacle of the project: positioned at 3,500 metres, it allows visitors to experience the Mont Blanc massif at close range and offers a unique panoramic experience. The entire installation merges advanced technology, contemporary architecture and profound respect for the natural setting, redefining both access to and enjoyment of the Alpine landscape.
