A High-Altitude Cable Car System Enhancing Connectivity Between Alba and Dolomiti Superski.

Within the Dolomiti Superski area, the new Alba–Col dei Rossi cable car, whose construction began in 2014, connects the village of Alba with the Ciampac ski area and the Belvedere resort, creating a strategic link between two major tourist destinations in the Val di Fassa. The project includes the construction of both the valley station, located at 1,450 metres above sea level, and the mountain station at 2,380 metres, as well as the installation of two cable‑car pylons.

One of the most distinctive features of the project is the steel structure of the mountain station, characterised by an approximately 8‑metre cantilever that required advanced engineering solutions to ensure stability and safety within a complex alpine environment. Additionally, the main pylon, standing 53 metres high, represents a key technical and landscape element along the cable‑car route.

The intervention stands as a technologically sophisticated piece of infrastructure, capable of integrating seamlessly into the delicate alpine setting while significantly improving accessibility and connectivity within the ski area.
